Residents Association
The aim of the Residents Association is to promote the welfare and represent
the interests of the permanent residents of Holcombe. It has five
objectives, namely:
-
To
act as a forum for the discussion of local issues.
-
To
ascertain and express the views of the membership.
-
To
preserve and sustain the character and environment of the
village
of
Holcombe.
-
To
protect the green field sites around the
village
of
Holcombe
from development. This to
include all areas which currently provide a buffer between the settlements
of Teignmouth, Holcombe and Dawlish.
-
To
consider practical ways of improving the general quality of life of
residents in the village.
There are normally four general
meetings a year at which a speaker is often invited. The Association also runs social activities, such as a Barn
Dance, and gets involved in the running of the village fete. At present
the Association has around 350 members.
