Holcombe Garden Society

Meetings are held at the Village Hall on the last Thursday of each month, September to April inclusive.  All meetings start at 7.30pm.  In addition, the Society arranges visits to gardens in the region in the Summer (see below).  For further information please contact the Secretary, Mrs Marie Coulthard on 01626 862823. The Annual Subscription of £5 is payable at the September meeting.

Garden Visits

Wednesday 14th April - Coleton Fishacre, Kingsweir

The South Devon home of the D'Oyly Carte family set in beautiful gardens.  Lunch, teas etc available at the restaurant.

 

The cost will be £8 coach fare per person with free entry to the houses and gardens for National Trust Members.  You will be charged if you forget your NT card.  The entrance fee for non-NT members for house and garden is £7.50 each.  Booking forms to be returned by 19th March please.

 

Friday 18th June - Bosvigo Garden and Trewithin Garden, Truro

We shall visit Bosvigo garden in the morning and Trewitin for lunch and the afternoon.  Bosvigo is described as at its best in the summer and is a series of small garden rooms.  Trewithin is renowned for its rhododendrons and has a new viewing platform to add to the enjoyment of the garden.  There will be a coffee stop.

 

The cost is £20 each including entrance to both gardens.  Booking forms to be returned by 28 May please.

 

Highgrove

No date can be fixed for this visit until we know if we can achieve a group of 25.  The cost is £31 per person, including the £15 pp donation requested to the Prince's Charities.  There is now no restriction on people who have visited before and the trip is open to non-HGS members so friends can come along.  Please let us know by 25th February (if you have not already put your name on the list) if you are interested.
